Sen Monthé-Drèze Lab
Led by two Brigham and Women’s neonatologists, Dr. Sarbattama Sen and Dr. Carmen Monthé-Drèze, the Sen Monthé-Drèze Lab’s research primarily focuses on how the maternal environment during and after pregnancy impacts the health and development of the dyad.
We utilize observational and translational studies to understand the underlying mechanisms and clinical trials to devise strategies to improve outcomes. Topics of interest include maternal obesity, gestational diabetes, maternal microbiome, breastfeeding, milk composition, nutrition, infant growth and social determinants of health.
